Dance at Summer Camp

"Performing Arts at Windsor Mountain feeds on imagination and makes campers think––because of this, campers and counselors feel empowered to create grand productions."

Rebecca (Bex) Hansell 2002 Performing Arts Department Head

Music: One an' a Two an' a Three

The sounds of instruments and singing ring across camp. Campers can choose to learn Jamaican steel drumming, join a guitar jam session, or a song writing class. One might play in a folk orchestra, toot jazz tunes, find a rhythm on a drum, or perform in the annual International Folk Festival before the entire camp.

Dance: Learn New Steps

Step into the Dance Pavilion, overlooking Boulder Lake and enter the world of contra dance, dance gymnastics, creative movement, funk, jazz, modern dance, classical ballet, ethnic dancing and more. Dancers have every opportunity to take classes and perform to live music.

Drama: Let The Play Begin

Each summer, Windsor Mountain stages many performances. Most campers take part in these performances by participating in activities such as mask making, set design, costuming, choreography, script writing, and prop making. These events are the culmination of joyous work many campers are involved in, in the name of theatre. At camp, the show always goes on, with storytelling, skits, play writing, performances, and slapstick comedy.
