Travel across the world to an island paradise where creativity is the norm! In Bali, art is an integral part of everyday life. Dance, mask making, puppetry, music, and live performance are as common in Bali as television, cell phones, and automobiles are in the United States—if art is your ‘thing’, then Bali is heaven-on-earth. The Windsor Mountain Bali Arts and Culture program is designed for motivated students who know that they absolutely love art and performance, and have a desire to travel the world and discover what is possible when art is life, and life is art.
Windsor Mountain Bali Arts and Culture Participants will:
Previous theatre experience is not required for this program; however, students should feel that they absolutely love art and performance and have a desire to travel the world, open their minds, and expand their ideas about what is possible.
Days 1-4: Orientation
Days 5-10: Master class rotations: students will take classes in dance, music, mask making, and shadow puppetry. At the end of the five days each student will choose a ‘major’ and a Master teacher to study with.
Days 11-24: Live, Study, and Learn! Days 14-21 will be spent in a homestay with a Balinese family; maybe even the family of the student's Master teacher!
Days 25-29: Students showcase their talents by creating an original performance for their teachers, families, and hosts.
Day 30: Travel Home!!
