The Educational Opportunities Fund (EOF) was established in 1968 as a non-profit (501c3) public charity. Its primary purpose is to subsidize students and enable them to participate in enriching educational programs, summer or school year.

Recipients of EOF financial aid give as much as they gain from their experience: they enrich the group of which they are a part and gain immeasurably in terms of personal growth, skills and a fresh, new perspective on themselves, their own home and the world beyond.

Financial Aid to Windsor Mountain programs is awarded based on all the following criteria: (1) space and funding availability in the program, (2) financial need, and (3) personal merit.

Donations to the EOF have come from private and corporate contributions, family foundations, as well as students, parents, alumni and staff. Help in targeting deserving students has come from organizations including the Central Park East School, Frederick Douglas Academy, Upward Inc. in New York City, the Delta Ministry in Mississippi, New Orleans Middle School, METCO and Summer Search in Boston, Summer Search in San Francisco, Providence St. Mel in Chicago, Montreal Jewish Cultural Association, Say Yes to Education Foundation in Philadelphia, Hand to Hand in Baltimore, school districts in New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, the All China Youth Federation, the One to One Foundation, and the Samantha Smith Foundation of Maine.
