Camper Transportation
Below is information regarding camper transportation to and from camp. We ask that every camp family complete and submit by April 30, 2012, the Transportation Form so that we are able to track carefully campers’ arrivals and departures.
Campers have three transportation options: Drive, Fly or Chartered Van/Bus
Transportation costs are as follows:
Bus to/from New York City or Mount Kisco: $95 each way
Van to/from Newton, MA: $70 each way
Van to/from Boston Logan Airport: $70 each way
Van to/from Manchester Airport: $35 each way
(1) Drive
If you plan to drop off your camper on opening day, please arrive between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
If you plan to pick-up your camper on departure day, please arrive between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to enjoy our music (July) or theatre (August) festival. The festivities conclude at approximately 2:30 p.m. For those campers departing after two weeks (on July 9 and August 6), please pick-up your camper between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
For all pick-ups and drop-offs, please park in the designated area and check-in with the summer camp office before departing camp.
(2) Airplane
Windsor Mountain will arrange for airport pick-up and drop-off from Manchester Airport for domestic flights and Boston Logan International Airport for international flights.
Individual arrangements will be made with students arriving and departing on flights, according to their airline and flight times. Please use the suggested time windows below. We coordinate our pick-up/drop-offs to be as efficient as possible. Also, please note that we only provide airport transportation service between camp and Manchester Airport or Boston Logan International Airport.
Arrival Flight Window: If possible, please choose a flight that arrives between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Departure Flight Window: If possible, please choose a flight that departs between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
We will pick-up campers at baggage claim area close to the time of your arrival. It is important that you wait at your baggage claim area for a WMI staff person to meet you.
We will drop off campers at the security check in point closest to your gate. A staff person will see that you and your luggage are checked in and will remain at the airport until your flight has departed. Due to the numbers of students flying and airport security, it is not always possible to have our staff person wait with a camper. If you cannot get a flight within the above window of time, please call us and let us know your options. We’ll help you decide which option is best.
CAMPERS TRAVELING AS UNACCOMPANIED MINORS: We will contact you during the week before your flight to share contact information. Please remember that you must register AND PAY for your child traveling as an unaccompanied minor before the flight date.
(3) Windsor Mountain Charter Bus/Van
Windsor Mountain chartered bus or van transportation is available for pick-up and drop-off from the following locations: NYC (Manhattan); Mt. Kisco; and Boston. Please do not drop off your child at the designated location without checking in with Windsor Mountain staff members. We request that parents remain at the drop off location until your child has boarded the bus or van. At pick-up, please inform the Windsor Mountain staff members prior to departing with your child.
Bus times are approximate, and dependent on traffic, weather, etc. Our counselors on the bus have cell phones and are in contact with the office. Please call (603) 478-3166 if you haven’t found the bus, if you are running late, or if the bus is substantially late. We have snacks available, but suggest you pack a picnic lunch for the longer trips. Windsor Mountain staff members transporting campers or accompanying campers on charter transportation have training in CPR and First Aid, as well as training on camper supervision. Staff members will have a roster of campers and at the start of the trip and at every stop along the way, they will take a head count of persons in the vehicle, and match that to the starting count.
Pick-Up & Drop-Off Locations: PICK-UP & DROP-OFF LOCATIONS ARE THE SAME
NYC Location: The NYC bus will pick up at West End Ave. between 59th and 60th Street.
Mt. Kisco Location: At the Bedford rest area on the southbound lane of route 684 near the Katonah exit. If heading South on 684, the rest area is after exit 5 (Sawmill River Parkway). If heading North, get off at exit 6,cross over and take 684 South, PAST exit 5, to the rest area.
Newton Location: Riverside Station on the Green D line, Grove St., off Route 128 in Newton, south of Commonwealth Ave.

NYC – 9:30 a.m. assembly, 10:00 a.m. departure
Mt. Kisco – 11:15 a.m. assembly, 11:30 a.m. departure

Newton – 12:45 p.m. assembly, 1:00 p.m. departure
(Van arrives at camp at approximately 3:15 p.m.)
Drop-Off Times for July 9, 2012, and August 6, 2012
(for two-week campers only – there is no van service to Boston for two-week campers)

Mt. Kisco arrival – 2:30 p.m.
NYC arrival – 4:00 p.m.
Drop-Off Times for July 21, 2012, and August 18, 2012
(Bus departs camp at approximately 3:00 p.m.)
Mt. Kisco arrival – 7:15 p.m.
NYC arrival – 8:45 p.m.
Newton arrival – 5:15 pm.

Please submit your Transportation Form by April 30th even if you are being driven to camp. Please note the new opening and closing days of the week.
Driving Directions to Windsor Mountain
From the New York City Area:
Take Interstate 91 North to Brattleboro, Vermont. Take Exit 3 (Route 9 East, Keene, NH) in Vermont. Follow Route 9 over the river and into NH. (PLEASE NOTE: there are often speed traps on Route 9 during the summer months.) Continue on Route 9 through Keene towards Hillsboro and Concord for approximately 25 miles. Make a left turn onto Route 31 North a/k/a Second New Hampshire Turnpike (you will have already passed the turn off for 31 South) across from the 1830 House Motel .
Continue 1.5 miles and make left onto Windsor Road, just past Williams’ Store on the left. Travel approximately 3 miles to where Windsor Road ends at a “T” at the top of a hill. Make a left, and travel approximately 3/4 mile where you will see our entrance on the right, marked with a large Windsor Mountain sign with our logo in the center.
PLEASE NOTE: (a) the speed limit on Windsor Road is 25 MPH; and (b) please do not confuse us with “Windsor Hills,” a facility that you will pass on the right before you reach us.
From the Boston Area:
Take Interstate 93 North to Interstate 89 North (Exit 12) at Concord. Travel approximately 7 miles to Exit 5 (a left hand exit) for Route 9 West/202 (Henniker/Hillsboro). (PLEASE NOTE: there are often speed traps on Route 9 during the summer months.) Continue on Route 9 West for approximately 20 miles. Take a right turn onto Route 31 North a/k/a Second New Hampshire Turnpike across from the 1830 House Motel.
