There is nothing quite like a 60-degree day in March. As hardy New Englanders, we know of course that winter is not over. There likely is going to be at least one more storm, the temperatures are sure to plummet again, and people (and Pennsylvania groundhogs) will once again scurry from place to place to get out of the cold. But for a brief moment, nice days in March provide us all with a wonderful glimpse of warm, sunny days to come and a welcome reminder that camp is only 115 days away!
Summer 2010 is shaping up to be a great one for Windsor Mountain. The team is working hard every day to make sure our families have an amazing experience this summer. Enrollment is very strong, and we look forward to having lots of great energy at camp, with fantastic new and returning Windsor Mountain staff members and very talented staff members from Camp Hawthorne coming on-board. Also, as if we needed more energy this summer, Ellie is a bundle of it and will be the new ambassador of camp, exclaiming “all right!” and “oh no!” as appropriate (or not). Also, we are working with the team to decide on some camp upgrades for the summer – new mountain bikes and a horde of African elephants are a couple of the ideas we are considering. (Well, no not really on the elephants.) And, of course, we’re planning two great events for old and new families on March 28 in Boston and April 11 in New York and hope to see you all there (and don’t forget to bring your uncommitted friends so they can learn about your second home).
We have had the pleasure of speaking with many families over the course of the last few months and have truly enjoyed learning about what makes Windsor Mountain such a special and important place to each of you. We cannot wait to meet you or to see those of you we have met this summer!
With great excitement for Summer 2010!
Jake, Kerry, Ellie, Tyler and Cody

Join our annual Work Weekend on May 1st and 2nd, 2010! As always, we’ll trim rose bushes, clear leaves from garden beds and stone walls, haul brush, and clean everything from windows to walls. Of course, we’ll also eat very well…French toast, hearty sandwiches, home made soups, spaghetti sauce, and desserts! We’ll enjoy the relaxation and chatter that follows a hard day’s work. Join us! You can roll in late night Friday and we’ll roll up our sleeves on Saturday morning at 9am and stick together until after lunch on Sunday. |
Please RSVP so that we can organize lodging, food and plan projects. If you have your own chain saw, work gloves, rakes…please let us know and please do bring them along! We’ll see you at camp!

On May 16th 2010 I will be taking on Lake Windermere, England’s biggest lake in a challenge that is sure to be tough but also very beautiful! I won’t be canoeing, sailing or swimming in the lake. The challenge will be to run around the perimeter of it in what has been called “England’s most beautiful Marathon.” I am running to raise money for a UK Charity called The Brathay Trust. Brathay’s vision is of a society where children and young people realise their potential. Its purpose is to enable children and young people to make positive choices by taking personal responsibility for improving their well-being, I believe it is an excellent charity with an excellent mission and I hope to raise money to help make a difference in the lives of young people who often see their future as one with no hope. |

FALL PROGRAM SCHEDULE
~ Family Camp runs August 27th to the 31st and we hope you’ll join us!

Check out the on-line application.
We are DELIGHTED with our fall program calendar. This 2010 season we’ll host Brimmer and May, the Fenn School, Hamden Hall, Lawrence Academy and Rivers. All of these schools come to Windsor Mountain for a few days of team building, community building and goal setting. They start the school year off with time at Windsor Mountain to set their compass for the academic year.
And when we are not hosting schools, we are hosting two weddings! Couples contacted us and requested that Windsor Mountain be the site for their special day. Now our schedule only has a few blocks of time still available for new groups. If you are interested in having your school join us, or if you would like to host a family reunion, or any kind of event, now is the right time to contact us.
Beginning September 25th we have availability clear through to October 9th. And of course, October 9th, 10th, and 11th brings us to the annual Windsor Mountain Summer Camp Reunion…so you can put that on your calendars now! One way or another, we’ll see you at camp!
